5 years later and I'm so glad I was referred to Bear Essential Dog Care Mobile Grooming. Tammy is absolutely amazing! We have expanded from one dog to three and they have never had a bad cut.

Jack was a monster when he first started going and instead of loosing patients with him, Tammy took her time with him. She would take him for a little wallk and let Jack get used to her. I'm sure his appointments took twice as long as they should have because he didn't co-operate, but she never complained and just worked on gaining Jack's trust.

I know I have been on the receiving end of Stella's snaps when I try and brush her back end or legs. Never once has Tammy ever complained or had anything but nice and loving things to say.

My puppies are my babies and I can't express enough how much it means to me that I know how well taken care of they are on their spa days.

Look at Grover... so well looked after as we all have during this time in our McMurray lives. Thanks to Tammy, who owns Bear Essential Dog Care Mobile Grooming in Lethbridge. Dear Tammy,

I just wanted to let you know how thankful we are to have you take care of our girls. What you do isn't just grooming, I can see the love and care you take when you come and take the girls for their session. For once our girls are happy to get their fur trimmed. They are relaxed and happy when they come into the house. As I've said before I have a sneaking suspicion they prefer you over me when they know you're coming to look after them for the few hours of their pampering. You come and greet them, hold them, groom them, and even wrap them in a blanket if its cold outside when bringing them back into the house. It's wonderful to know that they're looked after and they won't be a nervous wreck when it's their turn for a grooming. Again, thank you for all that you do!

I also want to thank you for the way you treated me and especially for the way you treated Franky. Because Franky is a rescue dog and had a horrible start in life, he is a scared and nervous little fellow. And I am very protective of him. Not all groomers understand that or take it into consideration. But you understood and made it an enjoyable and pleasant experience for both of us. Buffy loved her groom, walk and all the special attention you gave her! She was so happy after the 'spa' service, she was full of energy with no stress. When she went to a regular groomer she was exhausted, stressed out and agitated for quite a while afterward - so thank you for the wonderful grooming experience! Her cut is perfect, especially around her face, I can see her beautiful eyes and expressions much better! She smells so good too!

Hi Tammy,

We just wanted to thank you so much for the wonderful job you did for our dog Chomper - he looks great. We have been to a few other grooming places and he has never been taken care of the way you took care of him. You were the first groomer, out of many, who actually noticed his ear problem and addressed it immediately. He was extremely happy when he left and we have noticed a change in his overall behaviour for the good, of course. It is great how you take the time to take care and focus all your time on one fur-child at a time and make them feel more comfortable. Molly is a quiet, timid English Springer Spaniel and we did not want to have her in a crate for a couple of hours, and so when we saw your trailer we thought that is the way to have our dog groomed. You were so good with Molly, quickly gaining her confidence and relaxing her. You did a great job of grooming her, and putting a smile on her face,hopefully you will be able to groom her from now on. I would like to give a big thank you to Tammy and her wonderful mobile grooming service Bear Essential. We are from B.C and we were here in Lethbridge camping . The day we used her service was a complete luck of fate. She was down at the camp site doing another camper’s dog when our dog came running up to me and she must of rolled in something cause she just smelled. I didn't know what to do. So I approached Tammy as I could see she was just done for the day. I asked her if she could help me out. She was so nice …. she drove over to our camp site and groomed our little girl. I know she was in rough shape since we have been on the road for a few months but the smell was my most concern.

Our little girl came out happy and looking awesome but most of all smelling wonderful. I think this service is awesome and I could tell just talking to Tammy she has a love for animals, which makes her good at what she does. The big surprise was that she called the next morning to see how my little girl was doing. I have never had that in all the years of having my dogs go to groomers. I will definitely tell everyone I know that if they go to Lethbridge to look up Tammy.

We had taken Chloe, Barclay and Olivia to 4 different groomers since we moved to Lethbridge. They all did what they wanted and ignored anything that we had requested. In one case there was evidence of mistreatment. In all cases there appeared to be no love of animals - just a job. Last fall I lucked onto Tammy.
Her love,understanding and knowledge of dogs is outstanding - which - being "empty nesters" means the most to my husband and I. Our "kids" go crazy when she comes to groom them. We have always had Shepherds and later on Silkys (Chloe and Barclay). Olivia was an unknown quantity (Shitzu cross). I had no idea how to look after her coat - Tammy spent a great deal of her valuable time explaining and showing me. As well, Tammy is a lovely lady and will always be our groomer. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!

I just had to say thank you for the AWESOME job you did on Cooper and Charlie today. I knew that you were good after you groomed Sophie, however did not realize HOW good you were until today. Charlie is an easy little guy to please, as you probably noticed he falls asleep at any given chance. However, Cooper is not. Cooper is a great dog with a awesome personality...once you know him. However, his anxiety and general fear of strangers makes it hard to see his shining personality. A past groomer had to spend about 2 hours with him before being able to start grooming him. The fact that you came here, stuck through his meltdown and were able to groom him really speaks a million words! His anxiety often gets in the way and people don't get the chance to really get to know how great of a dog he is. Thank you so much for making both my little guys look like little princes, and for sticking with Cooper despite his meltdown! You truly have a way with animals and I can tell your heart is with the dogs!

Thank you Tammy for a job well done. Zoe looks great and smell nice too. We only have had Zoe for 2 months and since we are her 3rd owners, she has become very attached to us and gets a bit nervous sometimes around new things. The previous owners did not professionally groom her as they said she did not do well at the groomer. Well she did just fine with Tammy, she went into the van, no problems and 1 hour later came back to the house all clean and looking great. Tammy provides a wonderful service. She comes to your home, is one on one with your pet so they do not have to spend hours at a groomer, she makes your pet feel comfortable so they can have a positive grooming experience, and is done in no time. Best of all your pet is happy and looks great too. We will certainly use Tammy again.

When I first saw the mobile grooming unit in the Whoop-Up Parade, I thought "What a great idea, and, how fabulous that the entrepreneur who came up with, and followed through with this idea, was a Woman!" After we picked up our Bailey from a two week stay at a kennel, it was obvious, that although Bailey had a great time, he was in desperate need of a good grooming. The call to Bear Essentials was made. Tammy made our appointment promptly, at the most convenient time, for us. Upon arrival, it was apparent, Tammy knew her stuff. Her calm demeanor upon meeting with Bailey, resulted in a great first impression by both my husband and I, and more importantly, put Bailey right at ease. Bailey happily followed Tammy out to the unit, and jumped right in. Two hours later, out came our sweet, clean, groomed, Happy, little dog. Bailey has very unique fur, that is difficult to cut, and had gotten quite matted while at kennel. Tammy took the extra time to take care of all the mats, while managing to salvage his flowing tail and ears. His cut was great, his fur felt soft, was nice and clean smelling -- not overly scented, with product. And, it was obvious, that Bailey was not stressed out by any of this, one bit. This is such a "slick" set-up, that suits our lifestyle. We will definitely use Tammy from now on. Thanks, Tammy!

Absolutely Incredible and Totally Outstanding Customer Relations,
My dog Herbert is a rescue from the Lethbridge Pound. I got Herbert in October 2010. He was very badly abused and was abandoned. I did some research and found me a dog groomer in Lethbridge. She did a good job but I knew my dog was not happy being locked up in a kennel. So 3 months later I took him back for more grooming, and wow, I was terrified and extremely irratated - she kept my poor little guy locked up all day long (7 1/2 hours), then said to me your dog is sick, he has diarrhea and well there was a little blood. Of course there was, this poor little guy's anus was irritated. 9 sessions of diarrhea and he was real worked up, so that was the last straw!

I was told there was a mobile groomer in town. I called and booked an appointment with Tammy @ bear essentials for July 28th 2011. She was 15 minutes early - wow - to my surprise, and also was very hands on with Herbert. Now being that Herbert was abused he went and sat right by her and didn't move. He took a strong liking to Tammy from minute 1. I expressed to Tammy my concerns with Herbert and the previous past experiences. I think I was more un-easy with Herbert's day at the spa than Herbert was. So the day at the spa started and she was with Herbert for about 1 hour 15 minutes. Once finished she brought him up to the door. My little Herbert was jumping around and so proud, and looked absolutely amazing. I never once in the time I've had Herbert, seen him so happy with a stranger and I was so happy to see Herbert looking so handsome. We finished up with business and I stated I would be calling again. To my surprise, last eve around 7:30 p.m. my phone rang and it was Bear Essentials doing a follow up, checking in to see how my little dude was making out - OMG - what awesome customer relations!

Thank you so much for the great job you did with both Duster and Bentley. They love their baths and I knew they would be good for you but it was so nice to have you pull up in front of the house and do that chore for me. It saved my aching back and they look and smell wonderful. The other great thing was that you were quick and they didn't have to sit in a kennel for hours waiting for their turn! I will definitely not only keep using your services but will tell my friends and family as well!

I have to say we think Mocha had the best time with you getting pampered. She was always so stressed with past groomers and never got a consistent cut. One time she was still dirty underneath when we got her back. It was fate that your mobile grooming trailer passed by us one day while we were trying to look for a new groomer. Mocha just loves it…. She has never been so less stressed after being groomed…you give her such wonderful treatment! We are happy to call you again for all her grooming sessions.

Thank you so much Tammy for the wonderful experience my boys, Martie, Rudy and Jackson-K had with you!! They were so happy and felt so good after their "hair appointments!" I have been telling them that they will be seeing their "Auntie" for regular hair appointments! I think the Mobile Grooming Spa is just the best ever!! Rudy surprised me the most by his absolute adoration for you, he never has been like that with anyone else other than my mom!! And Martie of course is just a lovable little Teddy Bear!! Jackson on the other hand....well because he still is the 'baby' has just alot of mischief and energy so maybe by his next trip to the spa he will be easier to handle!! What a wonderful spa day for my girls. Thank you Tammy for the awesome service you provide. As you can see by the smiles on their faces Keeda ,Chinook and Chica loved you and the treatment they had. Being the mom I worried about how they would react to someone new and something different. You made them feel relaxed and they trusted you right away .When you own 3 big dogs it is not easy to keep up with all the work they need. What you did in the time you spent with them would have taken me weeks. Tammy you are in the right profession. The time and care you gave is what I have been looking for in a groomer and for you to come to the house …BONUS! This was the most stress free way to have my girls look their best, They smell wonderful and it was so nice to cuddle tonight and not have all that dog hair. You have made our lives so much easier….we thank you again. We are already looking forward to our next vist.

Thank you very much, Tammy! You did an awesome job on making Ginger pretty again. She was such a mess, and in need of some serious grooming. She was extremely happy after her haircut! I know she feels 100% better! The whole family loves her haircut too. She looks soooo pretty!

It's really great that you come to our place, way more convenient. Also, it's less stressful for Ginger. She doesn't have to wait in a kennel listening to other dogs crying or barking.

You are also very knowledgeable and informative. Thanks for the helpful information.

I'm sooo glad I called you. You have the best service, and do the best grooming around! We will definitely call you for all Ginger's future grooming needs.

Just wanted to drop you a note to say thank you for Oscar’s spa day! I was a little worried because Oscar is 10 years old, and had never been to a groomer before. He is also ill, so I didn’t want to stress him out by taking him to a busy groomer with lots of people and other dogs. After Tammy was done Oscar was like a new dog! He strutted like a puppy for days and was so happy with himself.

We have a two year old miniature schnauzer and he has been getting groomed on a regular basis for the past two years (every 2 months or so). Instead of getting use to the grooming he was getting progressively worse. I would have thought after all this time he would start to settle down, but apparently he puts up a pretty good fight each time. Dudley’s previous grooming sessions was with a muzzle and also I was told that I would need to get some medication from our Vet to take the edge off of his behavior as he got so stressed out. We tried the medication but it only made him sick. I really didn’t know what to do as he is a type of dog that needs grooming.

I was so stressed out, so I thought I would call Tammy just to feel her out. Right away I felt at ease and my stress just seemed to disappear, we talked like we have known each for a long time. I was so excited and I could hardly wait until Dudley’s groom date.

Tammy showed up at my home 10 minutes early and she took Dudley for a walk and started grooming him.

OMG!! When he was done, Dudley just looked awesome and he didn’t even seem to be stressed. His grooming was done without a “Muzzle” to my surprise. I could hardly believe that you could actually groom my dog without one. Tammy’s technique and compassion towards Dudley makes me feel I’ve made the right choice in calling her. I know Dudley felt good about her as he would not have went to Tammy for a kiss before she left. Tammy even took time to call me later in the day to see how Dudley was doing. She really is a great gal.

Thank you so much Tammy for making our life stress free and making grooming a positive experience for Dudley. I would not hesitate to recommend you to any dog owner..... you’re the best!

It is such a blessing for me to have my babies not only groomed properly, but to have a groomer like Tammy who gives such professional service. What a treat (for me and Peanut).

Instead of driving to and from the groomers, Tammy actually comes to us. That means Peanut is not in a kennel waiting her turn for grooming. It was also a nice touch to see Tammy take Peanut for a walk just to make Peanut feel more comfortable.

I attended a seminar where I was fortunate to meet Tammy. From the moment she talked about how she based her business on the passing of her dog, I knew from that moment that she felt a genuine love of animals, as it came from the heart.

Due to my health problems I was unable to take my three darling dogs out for that structured walk everyday. Which my boy dog was a little porky and need the walks. Tammy is now our dog walker, which has slimmed down my little boy very nicely. I know that they are safe with her as she is very attentive to her surroundings and when other dogs are approaching when taking them for their walk.

I was so glad to hear that she started her mobile grooming as it was getting too be to much for me to taking one dog at time to the groomers, and my whole day would be tied up. As a proud pet parent of three, my dogs have never been kenneled and this is very important to me. When Tammy came to groom my dogs they all want to go in the trailer with her. They watch from my living room window and cry till it was their turn to go with her in the trailer.

After the last dog was done and Tammy was leaving, one of my dogs started walking out with her. My ego was deflated as I know how much they trust her and love her. Our pets seem to have the ability to sense when a person is truly genuine on who they trust and definitely Tammy is that person. I have two dogs that mean the world to me; they are large with high energy. I felt that my dogs need more exercise than I could give them so I answer an ad for dog walker.

I called Tammy to which she came over and did a meet and greet with me and my dogs. She was very professional and in detail what she could do for my girls and me.

Tammy has become a very important part of my girl's lives. They always look forward for the days that she comes and walks them. She does not only walk them but she gives them structure and brushes them out after every walk.

With her background knowledge and her care and compassion for animals and the manner in which she handles my girls, I am confident in leaving them with her and very grateful for the help she has given us.

My two big old farm dogs aren't just pets, they are family, and I want the best for them in their last few years of life. This is why, when we moved to the city, I answered an ad in the paper for dog walking. I felt that my dogs needed a break during the day from the fenced back yard and my family was busy.

My initial phone contact with Tammy was very positive and I looked forward to her coming over to meet everyone. When Tammy arrived, she explained in detail the extra training she had taken and her future aspirations. Just from this I knew she was the right person, and since hiring her, she has gone above and beyond being a dog walker. One of my big dogs has a medical condition and Tammy was comfortable in handling it and kept an extra watch on him to see if anything changed from walk to walk. She would report everything in the dogs report cards at the end of the walks.

Tammy is sincere, gentle, patient, loving, kind and passionate about what she does. I trust her completely with my pets. My two old dogs are so happy on the days that Tammy comes and they look great after being pampered by her!

We have been with Bear Essential Dog Walking and Grooming for five months now and I will continue to use her services. Tammy has recently finished her grooming course and started up her mobile grooming business, which I am excited for my dogs to try!
